Why does only some types of transplants – organs, require the recipient to take anti rejection meds? Why isn’t it required for things like cartilage or skin grafts

Transplants are very rarely perfect matches unlike blood transfusions, so you get the nearest possible match to reduce problems and then immune suppressants to cover the difference so the new tissue isn’t rejected as an invading organism. https://youtu.be/pt9ZBw8C1nk
