You can’t easily ELI5 society and social behavior, but our brains are hard-wired for music and rhythm like no other animal on earth. We know that music is an intensely social thing for humans too, so while I can’t tell you the neurology of music or anything, it’s maybe not surprising that hearing music makes people want to join in.

Shortest and simplest answer – pattern recognition.

Our brain has been wired to judge patterns. Our ancient fathers found out zodiacs in night sky and planned their migration and we run away when we hear fire alarm. It is all too deeply embedded in our unconscious selves.

Peoples brains are wired to like order, second is language likely evolved from bird song which is musical. Most people like music and music is ordered, it speaks to us, it gets our attention and is catchy do we move and sing to it.
