I’m a nail biter who has been using bitter nail polish for about 10 years and still can’t kick the habit. Stress and boredom are the 2 biggest reasons for me.

Nail biting is also known as onychophagia and dermatophagia. They are classified as ‘obsessive-compulsive related disorders’ and are given the specification of body focused repetitive behavior.

Nail biting is a stress removing habit adopted by many children and adults. People usually do it when they are nervous, stressed, hungry, or bored. All of these situations are having a common phenomenon between them is anxiety.

It is a habit that is not easy to quit and reflection of extreme nervousness or inability to handle stressful conditions.
