Most photos of space are taken during the “day”. So the sun is lighting up the thing in the picture.
The sun is so much brighter than the stars that you can’t see them compared to the thing the sun is lighting up.

Compared to our sun and light that comes from earth, light from other stars is very dim. From our perspecrive, our own solar system literally outshines the rest of the space
