Why do some Western trailers from films differ from eastern? (not language, scene wise)

So heres the deal. I was watching the trailer for “Lupin the third: the first” and It was the dubbed version for the trailer, however, when I found the original Japanese one, some scenes were different.

I thought this would be a one-time thing, but I was watching the trailer for Turning red, and the release for japan had different scenes than the US and the rest of the world trailers.

So why does this happen?

Some trailers feature snippets of dialogue from scenes. Sometimes it’s a funny line or phrase that may not translate well in a language different from the original one used in the film. So it will be changed.
