why do songs get stuck in our heads and sometimes come out of nowhere?

I don’t know either. At night when it is absolute silence, I start saying the lyrics of a song stuck in my head. Then, in the distance, that exact song starts “playing”. Does anyone know how the hell that is?
This happens to me when I am feeling anxious. Then I know to try to find ways to destress. Maybe it is your brain trying to tell you something, just my experience
It happens to alot of us evidently. And after awhile you get annoyed at your own brain for acting like a broken record.
I think it is more of “you think of the chorus but the actual song has been playing for a while, you find out only when the part you know kicks in” that and random things happen a lot
