Why do speakers (particularly portable) reduce/limit Bass, as you go up the volume scale?

This is just so they don’t break. I’m an audio mixer and sound engineer, and basically the lower the frequency is, the more intense the vibration is. If you’ve ever hear those “earrape” things, that’s when the bass is boosted so high it distorts the rest of the song(or they just apply a distortion filter lol). In essence, speakers lower the bass volume as you raise the overall volume because it doesn’t want you to break it.
