Why do teenagers have sporadic eating/sleeping patterns?

I have always been one of those chubby mature early bloomers, but I wondered why so many other teenagers seemed to go for a day without food without realising it, or pull all-nighters and literally sleep all day long. Why is this?

On a basic level its because of the way the brain is shredding connections it doesnt use and forming others, additional energy used for physical development, also also factors as the start of puberty is often around d the same time as moving to a new school High school etc, these changes also increase stress at al already difficult time for the human body.

It’s kinda hard to say you need to eat and sleep more because you’re growing but it’s sporadic because we treat teenagers like fully developed people. Teenagers need to eat much larger meals then a developed person and they should sleep 8-10 hours depending on age where adults only need 6-8. The older you are the less sleep you need. But because of school and what’s normal for adults you essentially eat and sleep less than you should.
