why do viruses try to kill the thing keeping them alive?

Viruses don’t try to do anything. They’re just really advanced molecules that react to organisms and other viruses in really advanced ways. The same way poison doesn’t try to kill things. It just does. The difference is viruses are self propagating because of it’s advancements, and if they kill their host too fast then eventually that virus will stop propagating
