: Why do we actually feel something around the heart when we experience strong emotions ?

Is it because we are used to see the heart as the representative of emotions or is there a real biological link between emotions and the heart ?

When we feel strong emotions, our brain releases hormones that make our heart beat faster and harder. This is because our body is getting ready to react quickly.

The faster heartbeat and stronger pumping create feelings in our chest, often around the heart. Our nervous system also gets very active, adding to these sensations.
