why do we feel so thrilled by speed?

Be it a roller coaster ride or driving 100+ mph on an empty road

It’s an unusual experience. The thrill of danger. We aren’t evolved to drive 200km cars. Your body will kinda malfunction under unusual stimuli and your body knows it.

It basically makes your brain turn into a flight or fight response without the actual danger. Like controlled adrenaline rush.

Why people like it? I dunno. Just go with it.

We aren’t supposed to travel that quickly and it registers as danger.

If we were travelling that quickly in nature, we would likely be falling, and need the adrenaline hyper focus to maybe grab something on the way down, so as not to die.

Your body panics and you get a boost of adrenaline, but your mind knows you’re safe (or enjoys the danger) so you have fun.

Unless you’re me and you hate all amusement park rides, heights, and other adrenaline chasing stuff.
