In short, your body has two modes that it balances “rest and digest” (parasympathetics) and “fight or flight” (sympathetic). When you get nervous your body decreases it’s ability to “rest and digest” and focuses on providing energy to things important for running away or fighting (muscles, eyes, heart rate). Because things stop moving through your intestines ideally for digesting, you can get some indigestion and diarrhea

Mind, to Body: We’re scared/nervous/anxious right now.
