Overstimulation makes it hard to concentrate. Be aware of your surroundings- and you also wanna hear someone say “Right here” before you miss the turn

Think of your mind like a biological computer: Too much stimulation and too many input/processes slow down and lag the system.

Humans cannot multitask well (even if it feels otherwise). The brain can’t pay attention to multiple things at once, just switch back and forth really quickly. When you are used to driving a usual route the brain switches to an automated mode and we can more easily listen to the radio because we’re not as focused on driving. When we want to park or look for an address, we require more direct focus and lowering the music volume stops it from competing for your attention. This allows you to focus better on parking, etc.

As someone who lives with a toddler. Stimulation and noises can break concentration and focus.

You normally drive with eyes (to see) and ass (to feel accelerations)

But if you are stressed, your brain ask to free the ears so it can pick up more feedback. It’s not always useful but your brain wants to have all senses onto that task.
