Having worked for UPS, sometimes packages will get loaded into the wrong trailer/package car. If it’s in the wrong trailer then goes to its destination which is several states over it has to be resorted and loaded back onto another trailer heading towards the main hub that delivers to you. If it’s loaded onto the wrong package car it’s usually about a one day delay.
