Why does canned chicken smell awful?

I just bought a value pack of GV canned Chunk Chicken Breast and it smelled horrible when I opened and it tastes fine though. Why would it smell horriblem

I don’t know, but my kid eats that with ramen almost daily and it stinks up the kitchen bad.
