If you are referring to the gum becoming a messy mush instead of a wad you can chew on, its because that particular gum used less… gum. The gum bace is what is used to give it its chewyness. The reason they use less is because it saves money and prevents any issues of you swallow the gum.

Anything will fall apart in your mouth after a while. Enzymes in your saliva break down anything that enters your mouth, including gum.
