why does heat cause molecules to move/vibrate?

Asked my college biology professor this and the only answer she was able to give me was “that’s just how it works” but I’m not satisfied with that. Why do molecules vibrate?

heat makes molecules move cause they’re like tiny bouncers at a club. more heat equals more energy and they start dancing around. it’s just their vibe you know
