Why does ice melt faster in saltwater compared to freshwater?

I understand that it has to do with the density of the saltwater compared to freshwater but i was just wondering if anybody could explain a bit more in depth.

Inorganic Salts reduce melting point of water below zero degrees, and also elevate its boiling point above 100.
