Why does increased blood flow to skin increase sensitivity?

Two reasons, I as a med student can think of are: 1. If there is increased bloodflow somewhere it is probably harmed. Your body reacts to that with a “Watch out, this is broken. Don’t harm it further.” 2. Increased pressure from the extra blood can cause pain.
