why does it become so much harder to fall asleep when you’re thinking of falling asleep?

I notice that while I’m trying to fall asleep if I think about sleeping in general or think of it as a “time skip” it takes me much much longer to fall asleep. Why is that? Is it just me?

This is hard to say since you didn’t provide a lot of detail about your sleep behavior.

However, there are things you can do throughout the day that can help you improve the quality of your sleep.

Here are a few routine changes throughout the day that I think will help you sleep faster and with higher quality.

Cut out afternoon/evening sugar and caffeine to prevent you from having trouble sleeping
Stop looking at electronics 30-60 minutes before bedtime. It’s hard, but the light from the screen can actually throw off your sleep cycle.
