Well………. because it’s a wound. Pain has been selected by evolution because it tells you to either stop fucking with something because it’ll cause an injury, make an injury worse or interfere with healing, or to tell you to stop something from doing that.
The wound needs to heal. When we evolved we didn’t have first aid. We didn’t have things to help us clean wounds. So as far as evolved senses are concerned you’re fucking with the wound and it needs to stop so that the body can do its thing. This is why going to the doctor can hurt even though the doctor is helping you. Your senses didn’t evolve to tell the difference.
