Milk is mostly 3 things: 1)milk fat 2)milk protein 3) water. The fat and protein is what gives milk it’s taste and nutrition, but the water content makes up most of the milk by weight. So when you pour milk over ice cream it’s basically like pouring water over ice. You will get tiny crystals of ice that form. The difference is that the tiny crystals are a different texture than the ice cream. So you notice them. When they form on an ice cube they don’t really look for feel any different.
