Why does repeatedly swallowing saliva prevent vomiting?

I can’t actually answer this question properly, but I can say this: when you are about to vomit, your body produces more saliva on purpose, to protect your teeth from the stomach acids you’re about to spew. Also, after vomiting, make sure you rinse your mouth with water. Then after about 20+ minutes or so, rinse your mouth again with water before you brush or use mouthwash.
