Why does the sky “scream” during some lighting storms?

I saw this video of a guy on his balcony filming a lightning storm but instead of thunder it sounded like the sky was “screaming.” Why does this happen?

So you pop in one of those relaxation CDs to hear the calming sounds of nature. You’re tucked into bed, visualizing yourself beside a babbling brook, but then track three kicks in and it’s this wailing banshee of a thunderstorm. Sleep tight.
