Emotional trauma causes pain that can feel physical. The same stress response is activated using the same chemicals that are released during a physical stress response. Lots of pain felt is directed by the mind and the mind either activates nerves closest to the trauma (like when having a heart attack some individuals feel pain in their left arm because there is a nerve that runs by the heart and down the arm) or like a headache, there are no nerves but the mind simulates pain with no nerves.

I forget the name of pain that is felt using nearby nerves. I think it starts with an “R”? can anyone help remind me I think its relative or relational pain, something like that.

Because the body keeps score. Even if you are a ‘willing participant’ or you think/believe you are willing when someone has groomed and abused you the body knows better because of how much your mind and emotions have been manipulated

I read about this years ago. This article said, if you’re experiencing heartache, (like after a breakup) to take Tylenol or whatever otc, it’s fascinating!
