Why/How does a new car have that fresh/new car scent during the first few uses? Why cant any form of cleaning/detailing (whether from the best car wash/detailer there is or the in-house wash/detailing of the manufacturer/dealer) replicate or restore it?

As the other comment says. It’s fumes from the glues, resins, coatings and plastics. It’s a heady sensuous mix!
