Why is 8÷2(2+2) = 1? 5.18K viewsJanuary 3, 2024 Question91.13K August 2, 2019 0 Comments My thought process: if I had 8÷(4+4) = 1 and factored out a 2, I get 8÷2(2+2) = 1. However, if I say 2(2+2) = 2*(2+2), then 8÷2(2+2) = 8÷2*(2+2) = 1, BUT 8÷2*(2+2) = 16. Please help I’m feeling dumber by the second In: Mathematics 20 Answers ActiveNewestOldest Anonymous Posted August 2, 2019 0 Comments Use the method called BODMAS, the mathematical equations are solved in this manner. Brackets >Of >Division >Multiplication >Addition >Subtraction Brackets- (2+2) = (4) Of- 2(4) = 8 Division – 8÷8 = 1 You are viewing 1 out of 20 answers, click here to view all answers.
