Why is it difficult to change eye position?

There seems to be a huge gap in plastic surgery market and it is somewhat very limited for now for the eye part, if we specifically talk about cosmetic surgery or elective surgeries.
There are surgeries to fix bad features, like Nose, Eyelid, Lips, Chin, Jaw, Forehead etc, but the most complicated area right now seems to be the Eye area.

Why is it difficult to increase or decrease width between eyes, or change the shape of eyes?
I know its possible to fix hooded eyes, monolids etc, but moving the eye position from close-set to wide-set or wide-set to close-set still seems very difficult and impossible.

Optic nerves. They are a fixed length based on your natural eye position. If you move them closer together, there will be slack on the nerves which will cause irritation and discomfort. If you move them further apart, you will stretch the nerves, which will lead to blindness.

We cannot alter the length of the optic nerves.
