why is it okay to talk about “narcissistic abuse” when similar concepts are considered horrifying?

So I get that someone might be abusive because of badly managed NPD, but someone might be abusive because of badly managed schizophrenia but we don’t talk about “schizophrenic abuse”, and someone might be abusive because of badly managed depression bu we don’t talk about “depressive abuse”. So why is “narcissistic abuse” considered okay by most people?

Because the thing about narcissistic abuse is that the abuse and the narcissism are usually very well entwined. Being a narcissist basically prequalifies you to be abusive in relationships. It’s not guaranteed, but nobody is surprised when it happens.

With schizophrenia, depression, etc., being abusive to other people as a result of the condition is rare and much less expected.
