No they don’t. Since forever games have buffered to hdd, you probably simply never had to suffer a true from CD game

Partly, even if you *do* have a game that loads data from physical media, the transfer rate from drive is not necessarily the bottleneck, but the memory speed might be.

Games don’t run from the disc any more, they haven’t since the start of the Xbox One/PS4 gen. When you first put the disc in it copies the whole contents of it to the internal storage, after that it just checks the disc as a licence key then does everything from internal.
