Well, first off, ‘palpitation’ just means ‘a sensation of an irregular or too-strong beat’. Most palpitations aren’t actually caused by arrhythmias (irregular heatbeat), and most healthy people feel them once in a while.
Exercise does strain the heart. But it also makes your blood flow more efficient, makes your blood vessels more flexible, etc, which mean your heart has to work *less* hard all the rest of the time. The net effect is that your heart works less, not more.
