Like in a river or a waterfall? There’s a lot of it. More than 3,000 tons of water flow over Niagara falls every *second*. So you might think of it as if a 3,000 ton house were thrown off a cliff every second.. pretty loud.
Water in a state of laminar flow (all the molecules flowing the same direction and speed) is silent and appears to be still. What you’re often hearing is air bubbles popping. When lots pop at once, it can be very loud.
