* The point of massage is to loosen tight muscles and increase blood flow in the massaged areas.
* When an area of the body feels cold, muscles contract and blood vessels in the area are automatically constricted to prevent energy loss.
So “cold entering your body” when showering would immediately end and reverse the effects of the massage.
Massage therapist here. This is garbage advice. For so many reasons, this is garbage. We can begin with therapeutic effects of both heat and cold, *and* using them nearly concurrently to boot.
There’s a *lot* of quackery in massage therapy. Take a doctor’s advice first, if possible—not someone who spent nine months getting a certificate (and maybe some continuing—and questionable—education).
