why is so much boomer humor about hating your wife/ kids?

My assumption is because many boomers came from backgrounds where getting married and having kids was the ultimate goal and divorce was frowned upon and never decided to question it. So, they got stuck in marriages that did not age well and that’s the way they cope with it. I could be wrong but that’s what I had thought.
