why is tissue beneath the surface of your skin always pink?

Because every part of your body has a different concentration of blood vessels, blood is red, so the more layers you remove from your skin the more blood you see, the more red you see.
From almost white(superficial skin) to red(deeper skin)

If you had a different blood color your tissues would have a different color too.
