why is toast more filling than a slice of bread?

Water content, a slice of toast and a slice of bread of the same size don’t have the same water content. Water doesn’t really hold you over
Because it takes you longer to eat. Bread is soft therefore couple of bites and it’s down. Toast is hard so you have to chew and make soft before you swallow therefore takes longer to eat. It takes up to 15 minutes to register how full you are.
