Why the bones inside our body dont damage the muscles and tissues around them?

I was looking at an xray of the foot and i thought that tge heel must be under a lot of pressure and the meaty portion must be under constant stresses due to contact with the bone. So what actually saves the meaty portion in contact with bones from getting internally cut?

The heel has a fat pad underneath it for specifically the purpose of protecting the soft tissue/skin from the bone. This pad can die from infection, trauma, etc. And result in terrible problems walking for people, sometimes leading to amputation. Bones can easily cause damage to muscle over time if the friction is there; rotator cuff injuries (specifically supraspinatus/subacromial impingement) is often because of how the bones can grind on a muscle, tendon, bursa, etc. Moral of the story- enjoy your youth!
