Money buys exposure. The company in the commercial spent more money than the poorer companies to get more airtime in hopes that it ensure their competition’s failure.

It sorta depends on where you are seeing the ad..
If you are talking about digital TV – It comes down to demographics and frequency tracking limitations. For example if I am a brand who is wanting to show my ad to someone in the Midwest, who is between the ages of 40-50.. and I want to show it on one specific show because I know through my research that people who like this show are more likely to buy my product then I can buy ad space for that particular show, to show to that particular location, to people just like you. Now, if there are very few other brands with similar targeting then you are gonna see my ad a lot! This is compounded because ad platforms run by connected TV have trouble tracking and capping the frequency that you will see my ad.

Traditional TV- Simply, beyond some of that more complex stuff. It is the media buying strategy of some brands and marketing firms to show you the ad a lot. So they buy media in a way so that the audience will see it repeatedly.
