When we are sleeping, there is actually more than 1 type of sleeping we do, though we’re not really aware of them as they are happening. These are called phases of sleep, and it takes most people about 1.5 hours to go through all 4 phases.
If you only have time for a nap and don’t make it through all 4 phases, you are waking up prematurely and thus feel very groggy.
