Why when we’re in the bed near to sleep we start to be more emotive?

Sometime I start to feel bad for something that normally doesn’t touch me only when I’m going to sleep.

Throughout the day, your mind is busy with getting through the day; the work you do, the things that you have to do, you name it. Your mind is very occupied throughout the day, even if it may not seem like it.

At night, you are more at rest, which creates space in your head to think about stuff you usually do not have the headspace for. That is why we can be more emotional, or are very motivated to do certain things we wish to do in the future. It is basically the moment of the day where nothing else really occupies our mind and we have time and headspace to properly evaluate.

It also has to do with the way you approach things at night. Throughout the day, you may think “I still have to do this”, making sure you do something in the very near future. At night, when you’re in bed, there are no tasks ahead for you to immediately have to think about, so that allows you to think about stuff that has happened and to think about what you want to do tomorrow. We can think about stuff in a future or in a past much more considerate and clearly than we can in the heat of a moment. You have more time to rationally think about these events, rather than think about them in the heat of the moment in which immediate reaction is required.
