Why you can feel the difference between 60 fps and anything higher on 60 HZ monitor?

I thought 60 HZ screen just can’t render higher framerate, but apparently it can. If it can, then why buy a monitor with higher refresh rate?

60 Hz monitor can’t render more than 60 frames per second, unless you overclock it. You buy a monitor with higher frequency if you want to see more frames per second.

You will however feel a difference between for example 60 fps and 120 fps output from your gpu even with just 60 Hz monitor, because the monitor is getting more recent data, which will still feel smoother. (but you could experience screen tearing)

Try a 144 Hz monitor and you will instantly feel the much bigger difference tho.
