eli5: what are the little moving things you see when you move your eye around, almost like they are in your eye?

Floaters! It’s stuff that casts shadows on your retina. They can be anything to bacteria and debris to the jelly in your eye becoming a big stringy as you age. It’s totally normal so see them every once in a while.

I get them more sleeping on my back. I can usually look one direction slowly, then quickly look the other way to move them. Doc says they aren’t bad, just floaters in the fluid. Get your appt!
