Eyes don’t grow much, while their skulls will, so they just look large on their tiny faces. And like other mammals, their faces are designed to incite emotions of caring and pity so adults would care for them. Akin to how all kittens and puppies are cute.

Because you are a giant, an expert, a teacher, and a protector to them. At that age your words are the words of a god. And they are pretty stupid and lost at that age, having only lived for a handful of years and really only been cognizant for maybe 1 of them–everything is literally new to them.

Big eyes make them look cute. Because they’re so loud and annoying they have to look cute for survival so no one murders them.
