Cellular respiration produces very little water, compared to the amounts that we consume. The water produced in respiration is going to be a fraction of the volume of the food that you consumed to fuel that respiration.

If I exercise enough to burn off a whole burger, then I will have very roughly a burger’s size in water. That’s just not a whole lot of water. Maybe a few good sips’ worth.

The water we produce by cellular respiration only amounts to about half a liter per day, which is far less than the daily amount we should intake through our diet. We also sweat a lot during exercise, increasing the need for us to drink water.

The process of which, itself, is still dependent upon water.
