Eli5: Why does a limb hurt after moving from being forced in a position for a while? (Example: sitting on your leg and then getting up, causes pain when straightening your leg)

If I remember correctly it’s due to the loss of blood circulation on your knees so as you begin to move it the circulation will come back but due to it being a rapid change you will feel weird.
