How do mail carriers do their job?

USPS mail carriers have giant bags filled with mail. How do they just reach into their bag and know which mail they’re grabbing? For how much they deliver I feel like they don’t make a lot of mistakes. And then they grab more mail?? It hurts my brain

Because **earlier that day, some guy put the mail IN ORDER** before putting it in the bag. The next one off the top of the bag goes to 705 Main Street, and the next one after that goes to 706 Main Street, and the next one goes to 707 Main Street.

All the carrier has to do is reach in, grab the next several off the top, and drop it at the next house.
