How do mothers carrying more than three babies survive?

119 viewsBiologyOther

From what I know the baby takes much of the nutrients such as calcium from the mother, so how do mothers that have 5, 6 or, even eight babies (at once) not die? Even with appropriate healthcare I saw a diagram of what a single baby does to a woman’s guts and it’s all shifted— my mother could barely breathe carrying me.

The more babies you pack in there, the more premature they’ll be. 37 weeks is considered full term for twins. Octomom carried for 31 weeks. Which is impressive as hell actually
