How does giving computing power work? How does a computer from hundreds of miles away give it’s computing power to another computer?

Instructions are sent to your computer. Your computer follows the instructions, does the computing portion. The results are sent back to the source. It’s sending the ‘problem’ for your pc to solve and then the ‘answer’ gets sent back.
