How does head-butting not hurt you just as much as the guy you’re butting?

Change in momentum of your head. As the butter, you’re head doesn’t move much. You put your whole body into it. Your whole body slows down.
As the butted, your head jolts back having received the entire energy of the butter. Without foreknowledge of being headbutt, you didn’t tense your neck muscles.
Also, as the butter, you wouldn’t use a headbutt on a bigger headed guy.
