How does the body separate the gas in carbonated beverages so quickly that one burps pure gas almost immediately?

The body doesn’t do it. The beverage does it itself. Swallowing a mouthful of soda is about as violent of an act as pouring it into a glass or giving the bottle a slight shake – some gas will get freed from the solution almost immediately.
